TEACHING WORKSHOPS

We're running Teaching Workshops at a rate of about once per term. The specific dates can be found on our calendar. These workshops provide development and peer learning in order to support the professional development of swing and blues dance teachers across Edinburgh.

Currently, our workshops focus on:

  • Continuous Professional Development for our teachers, using a combination of planned activities and self-reflection. We expect attendees to have personal teaching goals which they can use to contribute to workshop planning.

  • What a thriving dance community feels like, and how to build one.

In order to help us gauge interest, workshops are currently completely free to attend, but you must book your place ahead of time by purchasing a ticket on dancecloud. Subsequent workshops may not be free to attend. For more information on how to begin teaching for ESDS, please see our Route to Teaching.

The workshops will be led by the wonderful Alex Fairhead and Lottie Avery.

Alex and Lottie have each been dancing Lindy Hop for 10 years. They both have a background in dancing; Alex is classically trained while Lottie's background is musical theatre and street dance.

Lindy Hop brought them together and they just love getting to bring this amazing dance into other people's lives and to share the joy it brings.
