TEACHING WORKSHOPS
We're running Teaching Workshops at a rate of about once per term. These workshops are intended to train new ESDS teachers, and to continue the professional development of our current teachers. For more information on how to begin teaching for ESDS, please see our Route to Teaching.
Each time we run these workshops, we will run two sessions back-to-back on the same day:​

Introduction to Teaching: Covering the practicalities and logistics of teaching for brand new teachers. Examples of topics covered are room set up, use of language, class content and structure, rotation direction, unsolicited feedback, self-introduction and contracting.

Coaching: Sessions that prioritise self-reflection, building confidence and developing teaching skills through role play exercises and mini classes. Peer feedback will be available if you ask for it.
Our next workshop

Our first set of teaching workshops will take place on the 6th September in the George Young Hall at the LifeCare Centre in Stockbridge. The Introduction to Teaching workshop will run 2:00-2:45pm while the Coaching session will run from 3:00-5:00pm.
In order to help us gauge interest, this set of workshops is completely free to attend, but you must book your place ahead of time by purchasing a ticket on dancecloud. Subsequent workshops may not be free to attend.​
The workshops on 6th September will be led by the wonderful Alex Fairhead and Lottie Avery.

Alex and Lottie have each been dancing Lindy Hop for 10 years. They both have a background in dancing; Alex is classically trained while Lottie's background is musical theatre and street dance.
Lindy Hop brought them together and they just love getting to bring this amazing dance into other people's lives and to share the joy it brings.
